In the course, we dove into Joseph Gandy's portrayal of John Soane's Bank of England as a ruin, envisioning it amidst a swampy London landscape. Inspired by this, we embarked on reimagining iconic structures as ruins within new, unfamiliar environments. By displacing these buildings from their original contexts, we reconstructed their planar and sectional relationships to harmonize with their new surroundings. Throughout the course, we navigated between 2D drawings and 3D models to craft a precedent building, relocated to Downtown LA. Collaborating in pairs, we completed a series of assignments culminating in a short animation depicting the narrative of the Future Ruin.
